THE CARLUCCI CUP

The year 2006 saw the beginning of this Ryder Cup style event originally titled the "Intergender Cup". Although somewhat whimsically named, it was appropriate in that it pitted the ladies of the Durand Eastman Women's Golf Club against the men of the Durand Eastman Golf Club. The idea for this event was sparked by some good natured ribbing between the two groups and it immediately became a popular annual competition. Spanning almost 20 years to date, every Fall you will find a team representing each organization, sporting their team colors and battling for points to earn bragging rights for the win. End of play is followed by a trophy presentation, some good eats, and a fair amount of well-earned trash talk being dished out by the winning team.
In 2024 the Intergender Cup was renamed "The Carlucci Cup" in honor of Jim Carlucci. Jim was a member of the Durand Eastman Golf Club and a regular participant in the Intergender Cup. He was an outstanding golfer and, more importantly, an outstanding human being. Jim lost his hard-fought battle with Pancreatic Cancer in May of 2024. The consummate example of skill and good sportsmanship, he was and remains an inspiration to us all. He will be forever remembered with great fondness by those of us who had the privilege of knowing him.
